In 1996, the American male amateur handicap was 16.2 and the American female amateur handicap was 29.
Today, despite advances in golf club design and technology, golf balls that travel farther and improved teaching techniques, the handicaps for both male and female amateurs remain basically the same.
Ask yourself, has your handicap improved significantly over the years despite improvements in the equipment you use?
If you are serious about lowering your handicap and improving your swing then consider the Pivotal Performance fitness program.
WHERE DO WE GENERATE POWER
Back Swing:
No aggressive contractions occur during the away swing. The sole purpose of the away swing is to position the body and club for a powerful forward swing.
Front Swing:
Right external oblique and left internal oblique abdominals cause the pelvic and torso to rotate. The pectoralis major, lats and subscapularis all have strong contractions to accelerate the arms. The spinal muscles and other rotator cuff muscles all help to create stability.
The PGA/LPGA Tour Is Doing It!
“We are playing for a lot of money out here and most guys realize how important it is to take care of your body and stay in shape. That’s the equipment you really take care of - Your Body!”
Tiger Woods, Golf Magazine – Jan. 1999
